Since 2011 the new regulatory laws created by the Obama Administration have been in a sort of a limbo but now the plan is to move forward.
These new laws would require gasoline producers to help eliminate the amount of sulfur which is said to inhibit the proper functions of a catalytic converter. What this means is that the sulfur can lead to higher emissions of carbon monoxide, soot and other harmful air-born dangers.
According to the Obama Administration it should only cost an additional penny per gallon to consumers but in normal fashion the oil industry said it would be more like 9 cents a gallon which is a common scare tactic they use when confronted with doing the right thing.
Once the new standards are in place it will be like taking 33 million cars off the road which is a good start. The true goal should be self-recharging electric vehicles and do away with combustion engine altogether which is something that should have occurred by now considering the combustion engine is over one hundred year old technology.
